With nearly 4 decades of experience in oilfield and petrochemical sales management, technical service, and inspections, Consultant Peter Bock specializes in elevated temperature coatings and corrosion under insulation (CUI) mitigation. Using his vast expertise from locations around the world, Mr. Bock will focus on:

  • System design and CUI, including material selection for coatings, insulation, and jacketing with consideration of area conditions and maintenance;
  • Design features to increase the efficiency and life of the system; and
  • Factors to consider when specifying insulation.

Mechanical Insulating, the standard craft training for insulation that was developed by NIA and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), was updated this year. During this session, Peter Gauchel, a NCCER Certified Instructor, will discuss the brand-new updates and materials, including additional insulation methods, as well as provide a brief overview of each of the chapter modules.

Preparing for OSHA’s Latest Requirements

During this session, Gary W. Auman, NIA’s General Counsel who specializes in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issues, will share best practices and first-hand experiences to help you prepare for an OSHA inspection. Mr. Auman will also provide new details on OSHA’s significant fine increases, electronic record keeping, companion anti-retaliation provisions, and the latest news about OSHA’s electronic injury/illness reporting rules, which go into effect in January 2017.
