E-mail Privacy Policy

NIA understands how important privacy is to our members. We are committed to protecting your privacy and want to make sure that you understand how your membership information is used.

You will not receive unwanted "spam" from NIA when you provide us your e-mail address. If you receive a communication from us via e-mail and do not wish to continue receiving e-mails on that address from NIA, you need only contact the Membership Department.

We do not sell our e-mail lists. E-mails are used for the purpose of NIA communications. E-mails are not routinely published in the online Membership Directory, however they do appear in the yearly publication. When we request your e-mail address, we include a box to check if you would like to have that e-mail removed from the yearly Directory publication as well.

E-mails are published online for Board Members unless otherwise requested. If e-mail addresses are included in submitted committee minutes, they will appear in the Members Only section, not publicly. It is assumed that e-mails can be shared with other members, unless otherwise indicated. E-mails can be provided to a Committee Chair requesting contact information for his or her committee members.

NIA may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:

• We have your consent to share the information;
• We need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested;
• We need to share the information with vendors who work on behalf of NIA to provide a product or service to you. (Unless we tell you differently, these companies do not have any right to use the personally identifiable information we provide to them beyond what is necessary to assist us.);
• We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process

Consent to use your e-mail address as stated in this policy is implied unless express written notification is given to NIA's Membership Department.
