Inspection &amp; Verification, 1: The use of certified mechanical insulation inspectors who maintain current certification by the National Insulation Association, or other certified mechanical insulation certification association, is recommended throughout the project to inspect and verify the materials are and the total insulation system has been installed in accordance with the specifications.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The language, in CSI MasterFormat 2018, has been incorporated into their guide specifications <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>220716 Plumbing Equipment Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>220719 Plumbing Piping Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Section 270713 HVAC Duct Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Section 230716 HVAC Equipment Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Section 220719 HVAC Plumbing Pipe Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><u>Alpha Engineered Composites, LLC<\/u>\u00a0 <\/strong>(April 2020)<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>For guide\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong>specifications<em> and or installation guidelines, Alpha Engineered Composites, LLC \u00a0suggests the use mechanical insulation industry guidelines and the engagement of a certified Thermal Insulation Inspector who maintains a current National Insulation Association (NIA), or other certified mechanical insulation association certification, during construction and throughout the project. Such inspectors may inspect and verify the materials are<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>, and the total insulation system has been, installed in accordance with the specifications.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Armacell<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (February 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>Following language has been incorporated in Paragraph 1.1.B Quality Assurance \u00a0of &#8220;Armacell\u2019s Master Specifications&#8221; on the website which applies to both their elastomeric and polyethylene products.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Inspection: A certified mechanical insulation shall be performed by inspectors who maintain current certification, by the National Insulation Association or other certified mechanical association, throughout the project to inspect and verify the materials and the total insulation system has been installed correctly in accordance with the specifications and material manufacturer\u2019s instructions.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Section 270713 HVAC Duct Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Section 230716 HVAC Equipment Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Section 220719 HVAC Plumbing Pipe Insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>March 2020: They are updating Armacell Master Specifications\u2014Sections 233113 Low Pressure Ductwork, Division 22 Plumbing, and their aerogel product master specification. The inspection language in those sections will mirror the language above.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CertainTeed Corp.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/strong>(May 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>The following language has or will be incorporated in CertainTeed\u2019s mechanical insulation guide specifications.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The use and involvement of certified mechanical insulation inspectors who maintain current certification by the National Insulation Association, or other certified mechanical insulation certification association, is recommended throughout the project to inspect and verify the materials, are and the total insulation system has been installed in accordance with the installation specifications and industry standards.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>DUNA USA, Inc.\u00a0<\/u><\/strong> (June 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>The following language\u00a0 has been added to their cryogenic foam brochures and the on-line versions of their insulation design guides.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cThe use of certified mechanical insulation inspectors who maintain current certification by the National Insulation Association is recommended throughout the project to inspect and verify the materials are and the total insulation system has been installed correctly in accordance with the specifications. \u201c<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Dyplast<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (September 2019)<\/h4>\n<p>Following language has been incorporated in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Installation Guidelines: Iso-C1 \u00ae Polyisocyanurate Mechanical Insulation for Chilled Water Systems <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Installation Guidelines: Iso-C1 \u00ae Polyisocyanurate Mechanical Insulation for LNG, Cryogenic &amp; Refrigeration Applications<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Iso-Ht\u00ae Installation Guidelines: Polyisocyanurate Insulation for Higher Temperature (Up To 350f) Applications<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Dyplast &#8220;Qwik Guides&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Dyplast also recommends the engagement of a certified mechanical Thermal Insulation Inspector who maintains a current National Insulation Association (NIA) or other certified mechanical association certification. During construction and throughout the project such inspectors may inspect and verify the materials are, and the total insulation system has been, installed correctly in accordance with the specifications<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>H.B. All indications are inspection language will be included in some form in the next publishing of the respective guide specifications<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>K-Flex USA\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (March 2020)<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>The use of an independent inspection agency to determine that insulation materials have been installed correctly is optional. The same inspection language is also included in those specifications.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>9.0 Inspection: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>9.1 The general contractor, insulation contractor and owner shall provide sufficient inspection during the insulation and finish application. Continuous inspection of the application is not to be considered a responsibility of Pittsburgh Corning LLC. Pittsburgh Corning LLC recommends the use of certified mechanical insulation inspectors who maintain current certification through recognized industry certification agencies such as the National Insulation Association (NIA), the British Columbia Insulation Contractors Association, CINI, or another agency having appropriate jurisdiction throughout the project.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Polyguard Products, Inc.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (November 2019)<\/h4>\n<p>Polyguard has committed to add inspection language to their guide specifications via MasterSpec. The exact language is pending.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Proto Corporation<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (June 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>Proto Corporation has added the following language to their installation guide, Quality Assurance Section:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Hot Pipe System \u2013 Above Ambient Temperatures and Indoor Conditioned Space<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Cold Pipe System \u2013 Below Ambient Temperatures and Severe Service Conditions<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>FDA, USDA, and Pharmaceutical Piping Systems (Completely sealed systems) Indoor Conditioned Spaces<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Proto Corporation recommends the use of the NIA Thermal Certified Inspector Program, which utilizes inspectors who maintain current certification by NIA to inspect and verify the materials used are, and the total insulation system has been, installed correctly in accordance with the Specifications; throughout the project.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>RPR Products, Inc.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (February 2020)<\/h4>\n<p><strong>For guide\u00a0specifications\u00a0and or\u00a0installation\u00a0guidelines\u00a0R.P.R. Products suggest the use mechanical insulation industry guidelines\u00a0from the Midwest Insulation Contractors Association (MICA), <\/strong>www.micainsulation.org<strong>, and\u00a0the engagement of a certified Thermal Insulation Inspector who maintains a current National Insulation Association (NIA), or other certified mechanical insulation association certification, during construction and throughout the project. Such inspectors may inspect and verify the materials are, and the total insulation system has been, installed in accordance with the specifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Rockwool Technical Insulation<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (June 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>Rockwool Technical Insulation will be adding the following language to their Process Manual.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The use of certified mechanical insulation inspectors who maintain current certification by the North American National Insulation Association (NIA), or other certified mechanical insulation certification association such as the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF), is recommended throughout the project to inspect and verify the materials are and the total insulation system has been installed in accordance with the specifications.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong><u>Vimasco Corp<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 (March 2020)<\/h4>\n<p>Vimasco Corp. has added the following language to their website for each insulation related product line:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Vimasco Corp.\u00a0suggest\u00a0the engagement of a certified Thermal Insulation Inspector who maintains a current National Insulation Association (NIA), or other certified mechanical insulation association certification, during construction and throughout the project. Such inspectors may inspect and verify the materials are, and the total insulation system has been, installed in accordance with the specifications.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>_________________________________<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Industry Guide Specifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NIA is currently working these organizations for inclusion of inspection language in their guide specifications.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.micainsulation.org\/aws\/DBX\/pt\/sp\/MICA_home_page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Midwest Insulation Contractors Association&#8217;s (MICA&#8217;s) North American Commercial &amp;
