NIA's Understanding Mechanical Insulation (formerly called Introduction to Mechanical Insulation, and Part 1 of the Thermal Insulation Inspector Certification\u2122 Program) is available as a stand-alone 2-day course for those who have some experience in the insulation industry to make them more knowledgeable about mechanical insulation, the industry, and its products.<\/p>\n
This intermediate level course includes a review of the insulation industry market segments; the need and importance of inspection; the purpose of mechanical insulation systems and why that is important to the inspection process; primary insulation materials and protective coverings; the importance of Safety Data Sheets; and codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines, and how they are intertwined. This course is excellent training for new employees to educate them about the mechanical insulation industry and products.<\/p>\n

Additional shipping charges will occur for students who live outside of the United States.<\/p>\n Students who pass the exam will also receive a completion letter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> A computer with a recent operating system (less than 3\u20134 years old) that has Google Chrome installed (click here to download the latest version<\/a>) and a consistent Internet connection capable of uploading files larger than 3 Mbps is required. A web camera and microphone are required for course participation and the exam<\/u>. If you are using a Windows computer\u2013you may need to disable your firewall.
