Q: Are we supporting NIA by buying a booth at the trade show? Why is the Fall Summit listed as a separate event?
A: No, the Insulation Expo (IEX) USA trade show is owned and operated by Reed Exhibitions and is not a NIA event. NIA’s member meeting is the Fall Summit, a separate event, which is being held in the same location and on the same days to bring greater benefits to our members and allow them to reach insulation end users. NIA was approached by Reed to collaborate and has helped shape the trade show with our members in mind. Through this collaboration, NIA has prioritized member discounts and benefits. Reed offers NIA members a discounted exhibitor rates and gives exhibitors 2 free passes to attend the Fall Summit.

Q: My company is exhibiting at the trade show but we are not attending the committee meetings. How do I register for the breakfast, luncheon, and reception?
A: IEX USA is not an NIA event. You need to register for NIA’s event, the Fall Summit, which includes 15 hours of education, 2 breakfasts, 2 networking receptions, committee meetings and industry speaker events. NIA is able to offer Fall Summit attendee access to both IEX USA and the Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia (TPS) trade show floors.
No individual event or daily registration is available for Fall Summit as per the member-approved NIA policy. Reed Exhibitions is the company that is responsible for the IEX USA trade show, and your contract as an exhibitor is with Reed. NIA has partnered with Reed Exhibitions to make sure that NIA members receive discounts on exhibiting booths and 2 free passes to the Fall Summit. If you are using the free passes, then you can attend those Fall Summit events. If your company’s 2 free passes are already being used, then you must register for Fall Summit if you would like to attend Fall Summit events.

Q: I’m registered for Fall Summit and exhibiting at Insulation Expo (IEX) USA and noticed a few Fall Summit meetings overlap with the trade show. How can I take advantage of both events?
A: The Fall Summit schedule of events has been designed to conduct NIA’s educational and business meetings in the mornings and leave the afternoons open for attendees to visit the IEX USA trade show or conduct business. Meetings that are specifically focused on NIA Associate and Distributor Members (who might also be exhibiting at IEX) were scheduled to minimally overlap with the IEX USA trade show. For other NIA member groups, there is a slight overlapping of activities.
In addition, NIA is offering a bonus afternoon of educational material on Monday so that members who are flying in early to set up a booth or flying in on Monday morning ahead of Tuesday’s early morning start can take advantage of these bonus sessions to maximize the value of their time out of office.
By co-locating the Fall Summit with the IEX USA show, our hope is that NIA members will take advantage of the additional education, training, and networking opportunities with new and potential clients at both events. We realize that in order to participate in a trade show, companies need to bring multiple people to staff the booth and most NIA member companies typically bring more than one attendee to our meetings, so we have scheduled many additional activities to bring your company more value during the Fall Summit.

Q: My company wants to send a few people to Fall Summit. How do we register and get the discounts? Are there other discounts available?
A: To receive the multiple-registrant discount, there are 2 ways to register. You can download the Fall Summit registration form PDF and then submit it via email to events@insulation.org; fax it to 703-464-5896; or mail it to NIA, 12100 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 330, Reston, VA, 20190. Alternatively, you may send an email indicating who you would like to register to events@insulation.org and a NIA staff member will assist you in getting registered. Also, because we know training and education are important for members, we are offering members the opportunity to become Insulation Energy Appraisers. Members who register for both Fall Summit and the IEAP course will receive a 40% discount on their Fall Summit registration fee.

Q: I’ve never served on any NIA committees. Is it OK for me to attend committee meetings? Will I become a member of a committee if I go?
A: Open committee meetings are noted in the schedule with a () and everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, many of which will have industry speakers. You do not need to be a current or past committee member, and attendance at the meeting does not make you a member of the committee. If you are interested in joining a committee, email membership@insulation.org.
