August 28, 2017—Houston is currently in a critical state due to flooding and damage from Hurricane Harvey. We are waiting on a full risk assessment from the Houston Convention Bureau authorities on the status of the George R. Brown Convention Center, which is the site of NIA’s Fall Summit and Reed Exhibitions’ Insulation Expo (IEX) USA trade show. As of today, the venue is fully operational and is not flooded, but is serving as an emergency center for those affected by the storm. However, the surrounding area is sustaining continuing flood damage due to ongoing heavy rain.
We will keep NIA’s Fall Summit Web page updated with the most current information, so check there frequently for the latest information. In light of these events, NIA’s Fall Summit registration will remain open until a final determination is made on the event.
We will be consulting with Reed Exhibitions and local Houston authorities to decide on the best course of action. If you have specific questions about IEX USA, please contact Mark Swagerty (mswagerty@reedexpo.com).
We appreciate your patience as we fully evaluate the situation. We will be posting updates on the Fall Summit Web page as soon as more information is available.
